fire alert
When we woke up last Friday, the sky was of a dirty orange color like I have never seen it, and the air was reeking of smoke. Ashes were flying all around and leaving some residue on the windows. We got a call from the City Council alerting us of a "sand fire" in the hills, at approximately 12 miles from our home. "sand fires" melt sand and are very toxic, so they told us to close the windows stay inside, and get ready for evacuation. I went outside and took a couple of shots on the street and another couple of shots from inside. The alert was lifted on Saturday, but the fire in the hills is still burning full throttle. The wind has changed direction, so the sky is blue again here, and we can't smell the smoke anymore.
