AMANDOLA, Le Marche, Italia Every morning we take a walk trough the old town, my wife taking the lead, while I am lagging behind and shooting the scenery. Via Monaldi, going up and down and meandering through town, takes us from the outskirts of Amandola to the central piazza in about fifteen minutes. There are not many people in the street and on the piazza early in the morning, and most of them are elderly. The population of Amandola is growing old due to the low birth rate in Italy, but also because younger people are leaving town since the global economic crisis of 2008. In Amandola, time seems to be sitting still.
